Designer Spotlight: LaQuan Smith

A fly little birdie hipped us the designs of fashion sensation LaQuan Smith. LaQuan is no little fish in the fashion pond honies, he is behind custom pieces that both fashion phenoms Lady Gaga and Rihanna have been wearing over the last year or so.  The really really sick part of LaQuan’s story for all of you aspiring designers is that he’s only 21 years old, get on your hustle. 

LaQuan gained fashion attention as a fashionable party crasher in New York.  He also gained the attention of publicist Kelly Millions, who began to get his clothes in the closets of celebrities.   It doesn’t hurt LaQuan’s success to have lets say someone like Andre Leon Talley, Vogue’s Editor-at-Large, giving you a big nod on your work! Andre is even advocating for First Lady Michelle Obama to get into his designs!  LaQuan’s  Autum/Winter 2010 collection fancies a fit and tone body, it features silhouette hugging body suits and mini dresses that will make you scream for air!
